Dr. Ronaldo T. Alberto, the newly-appointed Dean of the College of Agriculture is an alumnus of the Central Luzon State University. He finished his MS and PhD in Plant Pathology at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He remains unstoppable in bagging awards amidst the pandemic. He always brings glory to CLSU as shown by his notable achievements which include several citations, awards, and grants. Dr. Alberto is the 12th Dean of the College of Agriculture. He succeeded Dr. Ariel G. Mactal who is now the Vice President for Business Affairs Program.

Two months after his appointment as the Dean, he was awarded the prestigious Gerardo O. Ocfemia, Outstanding Plant Pathologist Award in Research 2021 during the 53rd Pest Management Council of the Philippines (PMCP), Inc. Anniversary and Annual Scientific Conference held last July 6-7, 2021. Aside from that, he and his co-authors, Miguelito F. Isip, and Ariel R. Biagtan won the Best Paper Award given by the Philippine Phytopathological Society, Inc. for their research titled "Forecasting Anthracnose-Twister Disease Using Weather Based Parameters: Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) Focus.” The awards were related to his research works in onion diseases and management as he is the first researcher to discover the disease complex in onion which is the “anthracnose-twister disease” in 2001.

Dr. Alberto has made significant contributions to the scientific community especially in plant pathology and in agriculture. A man of science who holds five Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships given by different funding agencies abroad. Also, through his initiative, the Plant Pests and Disease Clinic and Surveillance Center was established in the College of Agriculture, complete with the top-of-the-line equipment and furniture, a legacy he will leave to the future generations of agriculturists of the University.
