The Central Luzon State University is one of the recipients of the “EDUKALIDAD: Parangal sa Kahusayan” Centers of Excellence (COE) Award and Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) Award for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) which was awarded during the CHED Gawad ng Parangal 2022 held on May 18, 2022.

The awards were received by CLSU President, Dr. Edgar A. Orden.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) celebrates its founding anniversary with the GAWAD PARANGAL to recognize exceptional and outstanding Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and academic programs. These are the awards for Centers of Excellence (COE) and Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs).

The “EDUKALIDAD: Parangal sa Kahusayan'' Center of Excellence (COE) Award is granted to Higher Education Institutions with 5 or more programs designated as COE. The COE is a distinction granted by CHED to an institution that exhibits exemplary performance in the areas of instruction, research and publication, extension and linkages and institutional qualifications. The COPC is a recognition awarded to the SUCs and LUCs whose specific degree programs offered have been fully compliant with the policies, guidelines, and standards of CHED.

CLSU is among the top nine HEIs with nationally recognized Center of Excellence. This was made possible by the six degree programs: Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Biology, Fisheries, Teacher Education and Veterinary Medicine following other nationally known universities such as MAPUA, Isabela State University- Ilagan campus, University of San Carlos, University of the Philippines Los Baños, University of Santo Thomas, Dela Salle University and the University of the Philippines Diliman which placed first with 27 degree programs as COE. Additionally, the university is the fourth awardee for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
