Dr. Renato G. Reyes, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Central Luzon State University has been recognized as 2021 Outstanding Filipino fellow in agriculture by the Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) Alumni Association Philippines.

Dr. Renato G. Reyes, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Central Luzon State University has been recognized as 2021 Outstanding Filipino fellow in agriculture by the Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) Alumni Association Philippines.

On November 23, 2021, Dr. Reyes received the award during the JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines Inc. (JAAP) 2021 National Research Forum and Awarding of Outstanding Filipino JSPS in appreciation of his significant contributions to mushroom research and development as well as the promotion of the Philippine mushroom industry.

Dr. Reyes also presented his winning research paper “Philippine Mushrooms and the SDGs: Recent Advances of Mushroom R&D in the Philippines” during the said event held online via Zoom, with the theme “Collaborative Research: Response to the Challenge of the Times.”

Notably, Dr. Reyes is known for his groundbreaking works, which included the discovery and development of edible and medicinal mushroom, its production and processing technology.
