CLSU has once again lived up to its name as a world class national research university for science and technology in agriculture and allied fields. In 2020, CLSU researchers published seventy-five (75) research papers in renowned scientific journals. Seventy-nine (79) faculty members and researchers from the nine colleges of the university through its departments and centers, achieved this milestone in scientific productivity.
The different themes of the scientific publications range from agricultural technologies, aquatic studies, biotechnology, nanotechnology, food science, fisheries, genetics and parasitology, among others.
These published works were products of the grants from various national agencies, research councils and international partner organizations, to implement innovative and groundbreaking research programs. The implementation of various projects was made possible by the university’s dynamic research environment and support to its homegrown proponents and scientists, pursuing their respective scientific endeavors. All 75 published works for this year are up for CLSU’s research incentive program, which encourages faculty and staff to undertake innovative research, develop new technologies to address society’s ecological and economic problems, form networks or collaboration with other experts here and abroad.
This milestone in scientific productivity further establishes CLSU’s reputation as one of the top universities in Asia. The university garnered an overall rank of 601+ and joined the roster of the top universities in the 2021 QS-World University Rankings (QS-WUR): Asia.
