CLSU, shortlisted in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2022
Central Luzon State University, Philippines is honored to reach the finals in one of the eight categories in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2022. The world renown institution entered the shortlisted universities for the “Technological or Digital Innovation of the Year Category,” announced on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Central Luzon State University, Philippines is honored to reach the finals in one of the eight categories in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2022. The world renown institution entered the shortlisted universities for the “Technological or Digital Innovation of the Year Category,” announced on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
The university takes pride and represents the country as it is the only Philippine higher education institution claiming an exceptional spot in the Asia shortlisted institutions. The nominees are Dr. Edgar A. Orden (CLSU President) and Dr. Clarissa Yvonne J. Domingo from the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine together with the Department of Agriculture and Department of Science and Technology. The Central Luzon State University developed the ASFV nanogold biosensor rapid test kit for ASF detection and submitted a project entitled “Nanogold ASF Test Kits: Bringing Life to an Ailing Swine Industry” to provide timely and low-cost screening tests for the dreaded African Swine Fever in Central Luzon, Philippines, which resulted to recovery and performance on the country's swine industry. The government supported the project and allocated 1.5 million USD for mass production and distribution of test kits.

This another milestone is a collective and community effort. The announcement of winners will be on May 31, 2022 at the Asia Universities Summit which will be held in Japan. This is to celebrate the very best in Asian higher education.
Widely known as the ‘Oscars of higher education,' the THE Awards were a fixture in the UK Higher Education calendar for 14 years, before they took this prestigious event overseas for the first time in 2019. The THE Awards Asia aims to recognize exceptional leadership and performance among Asian Higher Education Institutions.
Central Luzon State University, on an important note, unceasingly creates an effort to achieve its vision by actively engaging in different international recognition ceremonies and awards like its recent placement in the QS World Ranking: Asia at 601+, placed 12th in concluded AD Scientific Index 2022 among 65 universities, and ranked 18th on the webometrics ranking of 287 universities.
