LOOK | CLSU FACULTY AMONG THE MOST CITED SCIENTISTS IN THE COUNTRY
Dr. Hazel Monica Peralta, an associate professor from the College of Fisheries, ranked 137th among the top cited scientists in the country according to 2022 AD Scientific Index.
Dr. Peralta is named as the most cited scientist in the university with her paper on “Phytoplankton succession in intensive marine shrimp culture ponds treated with a commercial bacterial product” having highest number of citations among her numerous researches with 89 excerpts since 2002. She was also recognized as the 3rd best scientist in the field of Fisheries in the country for the last five years.

Further, some CLSU faculty-researchers also made it to the list of the most cited scientists including Dr. Renato G. Reyes, CLSU Vice President for Academic Affairs who was hailed as top scientist in Mycology and Dr. Edgar A. Orden, CLSU President who ranked 2nd as best scientist in Veterinary Sciences in the country.
Majority of the publications of CLSU faculty-researchers are in the field of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Molecular Biology, Biodiversity, Biology, Bioproducts, Biotechnology, Diagnostic, Nanotechnology, Parasitology, Plant Pathology, and Water Quality.
The AD Scientific Index is specifically measured based on Google Scholar’s citations, h-index, and i10 index indicating the total and the latest five-year productivity coefficients of the scientists. This measurement and ranking prove to be effective in assuring accountability and establishing credibility of the scientists and their research endeavors.
