PHILIPPINE CONGRESS CONGRATULATES CLSU AS AMONG 14 BEST HEIs
The House of Representatives of the Republic of the Philippines thru its Secretary General, Mark Llandro L. Mendoza has issued to Central Luzon State University, addressed to CLSU President, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, a copy of Resolution No. 153, entitled “RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING THE FOURTEEN (14) UNIVERSITIES WHICH BROUGHT PRIDE AND HONOR TO THE COUNTRY BY MAKING IT TO THE LIST OF ASIA’S BEST HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS BASED ON THE LATEST QUACQUARELLI SYMONDS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS (ASIA 2021).
The resolution recognized that Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is a leading provider of global higher education services, insights, and analytics, and is one of the world’s trusted independent sources of global intelligence in the higher education sector.

Seven of these fourteen (14) universities were already included in the 2020 QS World University Ranking. The seven HEIs in their second consecutive year include University of the Philippines (UP), Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU), Dela Salle University (DLSU), University of Santo Tomas (UST), University of San Carlos (USC), Mapua University (MU), and Siliman University (SU).
The inclusion of additional seven higher education institutions to complete the listed 14 include Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU), Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), Adamson University (AU), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Central Mindanao University (CMU), Central Philippine University (CPU), and Xavier University (XU). It was noted to be the largest increase in the ranked Philippine universities.
The resolution affirmed the support given by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to HEIs through various programs and services such as the CHED-initiated Graduate Scholarships Abroad, CHED-initiated project dubbed as “Fostering World-Class Philippine University”, and the Joint Development of Niche Programmes (JDNP) where CLSU is a grantee.
The Congress of the Philippines, thru Speaker Lord Allan Jay O. Velasco, adopted the resolution on March 9, 2021.
